Meteor Cafe

Breakfast at Meteor Cafe

I’ve been to a few breakfast spots and I’d say they all had good coffee and delicious breakfasts. How do they do it?! Such fresh ingredients, affordable and reasonable prices. I figured I can’t go wrong with any restaurant here. I stopped by just because it was on the way to the main strips and it was such a cute stop with good food, I’d definitely recommend it.

Coffee 100%

Coffee in Europe — supersize me Illy

They mean business. It’s flavorful, rich and from my experience, safe to stop by anywhere for coffee. Of course, my coffee doses are preferred in cups of this size. Illy is highly favored by many of my peers. Illy is Italian founded and is 100% Arabica beans to give you a refined sweet, velvety, rich and soft taste. In a nutshell, I love it.

If you’re not a coffee person, maybe hot chocolate with added spices can be a new experience. If you are caffeine sensitive, just keep in mind that hot chocolate does have some caffeine in it. I’m borderline an addict so I always opt for more than less haha.

Pelekanos

This is one of the restaurants in the main walking strip in Oia. Enjoy the view, slight breeze, and amazing food while soaking in every moment! I ordered this delicious fruit juice, all-natural and with no added sugar of course. Greece values high-quality food and it blows my mind how good the food and drinks are on the island!

Armeni

Fried Calamari, Seafood Pasta, Greek Salad
Seafood Pasta

People are so happy and friendly there, it’s amazing. But then again, they’re on a beautiful island with an amazing sunrise/sunset view outstretching the blue ocean waters so how could you not be happy!

Drinks there were perfectly sweet and you can believe I had more than one glass 🙂

I ordered a couple of fresh oysters, a couple of shrimp, and a seafood spaghetti dish. I would rate it 4.5 of 5 stars and would definitely go back.

ending dinner with my favorite homemade dessert & the ocean view

Dessert – it’s undeniable that I have a huge sweet tooth so it may be a bit biased, but their dessert was one of my favorites! The owner came by my table to check in on how we liked our meals and recommended his long-time homemade dessert. This was probably my favorite dessert this whole trip. I would go back just for this! He described how he makes it but held his recipe secret. I’m no chef, but I do understand why he would want to hold onto his secret. This was sweet and rich and just absolutely melted in my mouth. I’m drooling over it!

It was a cool place. You can get there via boat or a super long, steep, rough road with a million (so it felt) stairs. I did both to get the full experience. I took a boat ride there and decided to walk back and get my steps in while digesting. Donkeys are very much real and still there.

Thera markets

Thera markets – Imagine narrow walkways, tight corners and stairs, and so so so many options! It’s a concentrated area and has a lot of different food options. If you decide on a spot on the upper levels, you can look out to see the market from a higher perspective and it’s quite unique to see!

Gelato

ending the night on a sweet note with gelatos

Yum yum yum! See if you can find gelato places that have their gelato covered with lids in stainless steel and not out in the open. Openness and vibrant colors are great for marketing and drawing in customers but generally, the higher quality gelatos are carefully stored, contained, and the natural ingredients typically do not carry tropical, vibrant colors.
